PROMETHIA

Strong minds. Capable bodies. The courage to pursue knowledge.

“A classical school for boys who will be expected to think clearly, lead well, and learn responsibility.”

Promethia combines the rigor of a classical education with the formation of character. Students study Latin and French, history from primary sources, the great books, and demanding mathematics and science.

They also train the body, practice self-mastery, and learn to lead by helping another boy complete difficult tasks.

Formation

What Your Son Will Encounter

The Classics

Ancient and modern languages, and primary-source history — not textbooks about history.

Mathematics & Science

Held to a high standard, without apology or accommodation.

Physical Training

Daily physical training required of students and faculty alike.

Leadership

Earned through stewardship, not status — by helping another boy complete difficult tasks.

A Culture of Courage

A culture that treats learning as an act of courage, not a credential to be collected.

Minimal Technology

A minimal-tech environment that returns attention to the page, the field, and the person beside you.

The aim is simple:

Strong minds, capable bodies, and the courage to pursue knowledge.

A conversation is the next step.

Promethia is a secular boys' school in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, designed for families who want more than the ordinary course of schooling: intellectual seriousness, physical mastery, and the habits that produce independent young men.
